You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold

So she took her love for to gaze awhile
Among the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold

Will you stay with me will you be my love
Among the fields of barley
And you can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold

I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We will walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold

I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We will walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold

Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
As you lie in fields of gold

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Among the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold

I wanna know what it's like
On the inside of love
I can't find my way in
I try again and again

I'm on the outside of love
Always under or above
I can't find my way in
I try again and again

I'm on the outside of love
Always under or above
Must be a different view
To be a me with a you

I wanna know what it's like
On the inside of love
I'm standing at the gates
I see the beauty above

I wanna know what it's like
On the inside of love
Of course i'll be alright
I just had a bad night

cant wait for how i met your mother to start again :D

I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You'll make it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I'll sing along

what a sad song..

12/07/2009-7:10 p.m.
Let's dance in style let's dance for a while,
Heaven can wait we're only watching the skies,
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst,
Are you gonna drop the bomb or not?

Let us die on let us live forever,
Don't have the power but we never say never,
Sitting in the sandpit life is a short trip,
Music's for the sad man

Can you imagine when this race is run,
Turning up our faces into the sun,
Praising our leaders getting in tune,
Music's played by the mad man

Forever young, I want to be forever young,
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever forever,
Forever young, I want to be forever young,
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, forever

Some are like water Some are like the heat,
Some are melodies Some are the beat,
Sooner or later they'll all be gone,
Why don't they stay on?

It's hard to get without a cause,
I don't want to perish like a fading voice,
Youth is like diamonds in the sun,
And diamonds are forever,

So many adventures couldn't happened today,
So many songs that we forgot to play,
So many dreams swimming out in the blue,
Let them come true

Forever young I want to be forever young,
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, forever
Forever young, I want to be forever young,
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, forever
Forever young, I want to be forever young,
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, forever
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, forever...

wilful thoughts through the quiet heartburn,
celebrate the beginning with a promise upon return
but poignantly marking the end before the beginning starts -
remember: forever never lasts.

hello! im finally home :) bitter sweet feeling though. while i was away i really missed home, but now that im back, i really miss europe especially london. our home away from home. :)

went to town today and it felt terribly foreign. a feeling i cant comprehend but well.. had chicken rice and rojak from far east and beef noodles from cine (which wasnt very nice). that part of today was nice hehe.

one month of straight traveling and we went to: london, bordeaux, paris, milan, venice, florence, fiesole, rome, pisa, dublin, wicklow, glendalough, edinburgh, billund, aalborg, aarhus, vejle, london, wiltshire, bath, windsor, barcelona, madrid, porto, lisbon, sintra, marseille and then back to london and off to singapore.

highlights of the last month: (just for my own record sake)
i caused a blackout in the whole london hostel and did it again in barcelona. :( missed a 12:24pm train when we arrived at 12:23pm and ended up arguing with the officials at the train station in bordeaux. didnt know that paris beauvais airport was not open 24/7 so we ended up couch surfing at conrad lobby and some bar and night restaurant through the night. went to see the last supper in milan and took out my camera to take a photo when i was not allowed to, and the light sensor (i didnt even turn on the flash) let out an extremely loud recording: NO PHOTO! and the security guard got so annoyed he stood up and scrutinized the 25 people in the tiny room. (only 25 people are allowed in the room at once, for 15 min only, and only with prior reservation) so i slipped out when i had the chance to :s bought a pair of shorts from h and m, went back to the hotel room to try it on, only to realise that someone tried it on before me and stole 3 accessories, leaving the plastic with the barcode and price tag on in the back pocket of the shorts. HMM. had to go back to aalborg for an examination during the last month so ended up having to take 9 flights in 5 days. OMG.

ok the end. :) im not really having jet lag but im feeling really tired now. and im so lazy to upload 900 plus photos.
(correction: about 3000)

the weather in scandinavia is CRAZY. one day it is 25 degrees and we get sunburnt from walking around, and the next day its 0 degrees with barely any sunshine. (and its supposed to be spring-summer. omg the cashier at the supermarket was wearing her scarf inside hahahah)

the sun set at almost 2am last night and rose at about 2.30am. WHAT?!

well well, true blue scandinavian finale :)

ive decided to document as many trips as i can so that ill always remember this exchange (even when im old and wrinkly and senile)

laura, xinyun, waihan and i went on out eastern/central europe trip together. took a plane to wroclaw, poland and we were supposed to take a 1.55am train to krakow that night. the train station didnt look so dodgy but once it was night time, all the weird people started coming out and roaming the place. it was very very scary. thankfully macs at the train station was open til 1am and kfc was open til 3am. we sat at macs and played every card game we could think of for 5 hrs or so, bought alot of nuggets, milkshake and tea and sat ourselves in the most inconspicuous corner yet, just so that we could sit in there til 1am. and seemingly suddenly, all the homeless people started coming and roaming the train station. they were quite harmless actually but it was still a very scary experience. they would go to the tables and ask for money and many of them reeked so badly of alcohol. the chairs in the train station outside of macs and kfc were all taken up by homeless ppl sleeping there. thankfully there were policemen patrolling the place BUT they were not very helpful anyway. they couldnt speak english, like the ticketing booth ppl, shop owners, and pretty much the general crowd in poland. and obviously we couldn speak polish. anyway, so all these homeless people were awfully scary and some of them werent very mentally normal so it was even more frightening. anyway, we moved over to kfc for the last hour and went to the train platform to board the train (FINALLY). walking out of kfc seemed like the worst experience. like as though you were walking into the ambushing swarm of zombies on resident evil. and THE TRAINS WERE SO MUCH WORSE THAN THAT.

the trains were NOTHING like trains we had sat in before in other parts of europe. i think i can safely say PKP trains are by far the worst in europe. it smelt so badly or pee smell everywhere, there were not enough seats, THERE WERE TONNES OF HOMELESS PEOPLE ON THE TRAIN, there were no partitions between seats, and everything was extremely dirty, old, dusty and smelly. there's no way you can reserve seats so the train was EXTREMELY overcrowded. i cant possibly describe the immense shock we were all in. and the ride was gonna take about 5-6 hours so we really desperately needed seats. we finally found 2 seats in a carriage. it was an almost impossible feat to stand or sit in the coridoor the whole night because it was too cramped and there was almost no ventilation (not to mention no heater or air conditioning)at all. only because we had to ask these 2 china girls to sit up and not take up all 4 seats. and when laura and waihan went in to sit, the girls thought that we were koreans so one of them said to the other in chinese: oh if i had known they werent chinese we shouldn have been so generous to let them in. WTH?? hello lady, you did not pay for 2 extra seats did u?? so laura turned to her and told her we could understand chinese. what a selfish ass.

anyway, xinyun and i ended up sitting outside the carriage along the aisle and we had to constantly get up all the time whenever someone walked by. it was that cramped. wai han went to the toilet (very bad choice) and she said that when she flushed she could see the train tracks OMG hahahah yucks! in the end, we were so frustrated we didnt bother any longer. so the two of us also went into the carriage and 5 girls sat in 4 seats, and xinyun had to sit at the other row of 4 seats directly facing us. each carriage had 8 seats in that order. and it was awful. the old man next to xinyun had leg and arm spasms so he kept nudging her the whole night. HAHA ok it was funny at first then it got very very irritating. everyone was angsty so u see, we couldn really hide our frustrations very well. some guy on xinyun's row got off at a stop midway, so i moved over and there were 4 people on each row, FINALLY. i couldn sleep the whole night cos the guy next to me was very very tall and he didnt know where to put his legs. he must have felt very uncomfortable though. so he kept taking up more than 3 quarters of the 2 seats. and everytime the old man on xinyun's side had spasms, it woke her up, which woke me up, which woke the young guy at my side up. IT WAS VERY VERY BAD. so everyone tried to sleep, but i didnt at all. so i ended up watching everyone sleep haha. one of the people in the carriage was so hilariously cute (i shall not mention names) and woke up directly facing a foreign person's face and very abruptly and subconsciously woke up, got a shock, subtly blurted out F (which the chinese girls couldn understand cos they couldn really speak english. which was funny cos the polish people on the train couldn speak english either. so we were all gesturing to each other as and when the need arose) without even realising it, and then went right back to sleep. I ALMOST DIED LAUGHING QUIETLY and i ended up waking some people up cos i couldn take it anymore. hahaha.

so the next day, we finally reached poland. and we carried all our stuff and walked around krakow. but that was another bad experience. the train ticketing office, bus station and tourist information center were all near but not at the same place. we needed to book a ride from krakow to prague (overnight as we had planned. but we were told that it was cheaper to purchase a transport ticket at krakow itself so we did). the train ticket was SO EXPENSIVE (which was very very surprising) and the sleeping cabin was only 10 euros more than the sitting one (after the horribly terrifying experience from the night before, we didnt wanna relive that again). so we decided to check if there were buses to prague. (bearing in mind that the ticketing people didnt speak or understand engligh.) so we walked to the tourist info place and asked if there were buses to prague and the woman told us that there wasnt. but there was a cheaper alternative to get to prague since the trains were so ex. that was to take a bus to the border of czech republic and poland, and then walk across the border, and then buy an internal train ticket to get to prague. but we didnt wanna walk around in the night, and she couldn check train timings or czech train scedule for us so we had to walk back to the train station and ask about this. and they said they didnt know, and asked us to ask the bus station. ok anyway, in the end after walking to and fro (probably already covering a distance of 1 over km), to and fro, and to and fro, (with all our bags)we found out that there was no guarantee that there would be train tickets available in czech after crossing the border, the polish train and bus stations both didnt know if the ticketing office at czech would be open at night or in the early morning. we were on a tight schedule cos we only had 1 day in krakow and 2 nights in prague. anyway, we walked to the bus station and found out that there WERE buses from krakow to prague but they only ran the next day (we were on a tight schedule so we HAD to take an overnight train/bus to prague) and would only reach prague at night. WHAT?? so in the end, after all the administrative people were telling us contradictory information from each other, we decided to pay for the VERY VERY EXPENSIVE overnight train ride to prague. sleeping cabin of course. and that would be another story on its own. and so we walked from old market hall, to wawel hill, to the jewish quarter and ate alot of very very good polish food catered for the locals (so the price was very reasonable and the portions were huge!) we had placki (potato pancake), bigots (innards), kielbasa (sausage), pierogi (like jiao zi), zurek (sour soup), goulasch (beef stew), goblaski (pronounced gerwomki. rice and meat wrapped in soft cabbage leaves. it was very nice). and the very very hard bagel thing sold everywhere in mini stalls. (polish bread is very very hard. we actually thought it was just decorative cos it was so hard we thought it wasnt real.SERIOUSLY. hahah!)

so the night came, and it was time to board the train. sleeping cabin so it was just 4 of us in a private sleeping room, with reserved seats. so it sounded so much better than the night before. and yes it was, but not for me again. we played oh ya bei ya som and wai han and laura had to sleep on the top bunks (wai han is very tall so she kept hitting her head hahah) and so xinyun and i got to sleep below. we were VERY VERY TIRED cos we didnt really sleep the night before. i didnt even sleep at all.. anyway the train was PKP again, so it was the exact sane sort of train as the night before, the smell, the look, the design everything. urk. the toilet too. so there was no ventilation so xinyun opened the window to let the smell out. the room smelt like pee for awhile before that. (and wai han found blood stains on her pillow OMG. but we had bed sheets so we used them and it was ok). xinyun held onto the tickets cos we were below so one of us had to wake up when the conductor came. so we locked the door, closed the curtains and everything was quite ok. until the conductor came. he came in, checked out tickets and told us that we had to double lock the door and showed us how to. the second lock was so complicated so thankfully he was nice enough to show us. then he told us we HAD to double lock and sleep with our belongings on our body and hug it tightly. and to draw the curtains completely. and not to open the door anymore cos he had our tickets now so he knew that we've already been checked so he wont disturb us anymore after tt. then he said we had to do all that cos if not, bandits would come into the room. OMG. (he couldn really speak english. actually he couldn. with gestures and singular words, we could make out what he was saying.) after hearing that, we double locked everything, hugged our belongings, drew the curtains, closed and locked the window and drew the curtain for that (what if someone jumped in from the tracks??!!) omg and i was sleeping at the bottom bunk. i couldn sleep the whole night cos i actually did hear people banging on our door and trying to open it. CONSTANTLY. OMG. i was so freaked out that i couldn sleep the whole night. we took off at 1030 from krakow that ngiht and reached prague at 7 the next morning. thankfully, we could check in upon reaching our hostel in prague and i could take a 3 hr nap (waihan, laura and xy nicely let me sleep). we checked in, took turns to shower and slept. omg what an experience haha!!! ok everything was uphill from there :)

prague was very nice, though a little touristy. the first day was spent just going around using the metro and we went to the city centre, ate alot of sausages (the best yet really. and very cheap too), went to the communist museum, ate more sausages, went to memorials, to charles bridge and ate at this very nice place with the nicest waiter we have ever met. oh before that, we were walking along the street and we saw 3 chinese girls walking in the opposite direction as us on the same pavement. so i turned to laura and whispered do u think they are singaporeans? and before laura could answer me, we heard xinyun scream. HAHAHA so yes they were singaporeans and one of them was xinyun's friend, on exchange in budapest and traveling around like us. the next day was spent on a free walking tour, and then to prague castle, and back to the same restaurant again. =) went back to our place, played cards, snacked and slept. (the room was pretty nice. and the bed was so comfy) we booked a hostel near the bus station as we had to get there by 6 plus am the next morning. and we didnt wanna walk in the dark so we booked a hostel that was nearby. but it was quite funny cos when we got out of the hostel, it was so bright as though it was 10am or sth. and then we realised that the sun rises at about 3am or sth in europe now. hah! so we took a bus and went to budapest =) MY FAVOURITE PART OF THE TRIP.

the bus ride was very very nice. we were served drinks and there were movies to watch ;) hehe they showed white orleander, friends and constantine. we reached at 1 plus in the afternoon and started our day! the bus went through bratislava and it was nothing like euro trip HAHAHAHAHA but it wasnt very modern la. checked in at the most amazing place ever. it was like a nice apartment with the most amazing room and toilet and balcony!!!!! went on the hop on hop off bus and went to places from buda to pest (pronounced pesh. via the bridge). the fisherman's bastion, parliament, heroes square and castle hill were amazingly beautiful. budapest is so beautiful. bought dinner back (laura and i had a whole spring chicken hahah! xinyun had macs and waihan had bk). went to the old market hall the next morning and tried hungarian food (YUM!) lentils (my favourite!!), meat, rice, pasta, sausages, potatoes, spices, chilli everything. caught the bus from the bus station at 1 plus and went on to vienna. the bus ride wasnt as nice but it was alright la. reached vienna and met cach at the train station! we stayed at her cousin's place. her cousin's studying piano in vienna and her apartment had a mini grand piano. how nice! went to the centimeters eating place and ordered a barrel of food with schnitzel, sausages, fries and 2 types of pasta. we were very full at the end of the day. chatted and ate, and went back to her cousin's place after. went to the central cemetery the next morning to see the graves of schubert, strauss, mozart, beethoven and other great musicians. then went on to see st. stephensdom, ate ramen at the city center with cach and danielle, and then went to see the royal palace, chinese grocery shops (bought wang wang, bin bin, mochi, grass jelly, maggi mee and other snacks!) the strawberries in europe are so cheap now. a huge pack is only 1 plus euros!!!! so i bought 3 packets hehe.. ate alot of sausages and meatloaves (my favourite!!),went to see mozart's memorial and then went back to dani's place. cooked maggi mee and ate strawberries and chocolates ;)

xinyun and i went off very early the next morning to take a train to salzburg. laura and waihan couldn go cos they were going to spain on the 19th. so they went to bratislava with cach to fly back to stockholm the day after. salzburg was so much fun. it was so picturesque, the mountains, the lakes, the sound of music sites!!! went on the sound of music tour and went around salzburg for awhile :) it was so so nice. i really loved the half day there.

took a train to st. gallen that evening and met horse and huilin at the train station!!!! went to stay with them :) xinyun and i went to the city center the next day and toured the place. st. gallen is very very small so there was really not much for us to do. went back to horse and huilin's place for dinner and cooked a very delicious meal :) with lentils again! hehe. went on to luzerne the next day with xinyun. that place is really really gorgeous. its so nice i cant even describe its beauty and awe. spent half a day there and ate at a very nice pasta shop for lunch. the water in the river was crystal clear and the swans and ducks were so nice. the mountains in the background, the bridges, the houses, the centuries old castle wall etc. it was really awesome and dream-like.

then off to basel. stayed at ymca and it was very nice too. bought food back from the supermarket and ate more strawberries too hehe. basel is very commercialised so its very very different from luzerne. we had a choice to go to either luzerne or zurich and im glad we chose luzerne. and i learnt sth new during this trip. that zurich isnt the capital of switzerland (just the financial center) but bern is. HUH?? I NEVER KNEW THAT! so we went around bern the next day and walked around the city center. it wasn that nice but a good experience though :) took a bus to the airport and flew back to stockholm after that!! :)

and then the series of unfortunate events happened. :(

:s
21/05/2009-4:12 p.m.
so series of unfortunate events part 2 (and everything has a link to everything else. so 1 thing messed up = all messed up):

i was going back from stockholm to aalborg on the 18th cos i had a project meeting with my supervisor on the 19th afternoon and the courier people were coming to my house in the morning of the 19th. so i was pulling a very very heavy suitcase (with another suitcase in it) to be couriered back to spore the next day. BUT at the train station, i realised that i left my phone in the apartment, so in the end i took laura's spare phone back with me to aalborg. which has since died cos i dont have the battery charger for it. so ok got onto the train and tried to put the very very heavy suitcase at the top, but i'm not a man so it was too heavy for me, so it fell onto me and i fell onto the floor. very embarrassing. thankfully some nice man came and helped me with it after tt. ok soo after a very long 10 HOUR train ride back to aalborg, i got ready my coins for the bus and i wanted to put my housekeys in my pocket so i didnt have to dig for them later on. but NOOOOO. i left the keys to my house and room in stockholm. OMG. nooooooooo.

so, off i went back to my house. and since the phone was not dead yet, i smsed xinyun to help me to speed mail my keys over to aalborg. so i had to knock on my friend's window to open the house door for me but i still couldn open the room door. i could have slept with my housemate that night, but no i couldnt because the courier people were coming the next morning and all my winter jackets for courier were in the room! (i left my phone in stockholm so i didnt have the courier person's number to tell them to come on the 20th instead -the whole story is linked, you see-. anyway i asked xinyun to send over the number from my phone but anyhow, she didnt reply me cos i guess it was too late anyway) i had to call the locksmith (who overcharged me with a smirk on his face. though i was taught by my housemates to act like a sad and pathetic bimbotic girl so he would charge me cheaper. but ok i only got to bargain 50 DKK lesser than the price he quoted)and the door was finally open at 1245am.

alright, so i woke up the next morning to the alarm on the phone and waited for the courier people. but when i checked my email, i was told that they were only coming at 2pm. which was the exact timing of my project meeting with my supervisor. so i had to email my supervisor and thankfully she was at her computer so i changed the meeting to the next morning on the 20th. so ok 2pm and the courier guy came. (he was an arrogant english man) and he asked me if i had any courier slip to stick on the front of my luggages. and i said no cos i had already given my details to the person in charge on the email and she said that that was all i had to do. so in the end, he left and gave me a number to call when i have everything sorted out. so i had to borrow my housemate's phone and printer to print out the courier slips by email (which were apparently sent to me the night before but i didnt get it) and then i had to call another courier guy. and he came and finally got my luggages and left (another english guy. but a nice man)

okay, so the next morning, because i left my phone in stockholm and i had to take laura's spare phone which i had no battery charger to, i had no alarm to wake up to, so that i could go to school for the meeting. and because i was so scared i didnt have an alarm to wake up to, i asked xinyun on msn if she could nicely call me on skype the next morning. so i turned the volume to the max and left the comp on. just slightly after tt, i met my housemate outside my room (the one staying directly next to me) and i asked her what time she was going out the next morning. and she said 930am, which was the time i had to wake up at! so i asked if she could knock on my door to wake me up. but i didnt tell xinyun not to skype call me the next morning anymore cos i was scared my housemate would forget to knock on my door! so ok, because i was so worried i wasn going to wake up the next morning, i ended up watching how i met your mother on my comp til 3am cos i couldn sleep. and because my housemate had to wake up early the next morning, i was watching the show with earphones on. sooo i did leave my comp on, with max volumbe, when i went to sleep but i left the earphones in. ok anyway, i did wake up in the end cos i couldn sleep properly to begin with. and then i heard the knock and the phone call simultaneously. :) ok so the keys have not arrived, so when i got back from school yesterday afternoon, i had to climb into the house through the kitchen window :(

anyway, i needed to come back to aalborg to return my keys and get my deposit back from the accommodation office (cos im going traveling the whole of next month), and to hand in my work. but now i have to wait for my keys to reach aalborg and i just found out that there's a holiday from 21st to 25th may (ARGH) so i still have to wait til then to hand in my assignments AND to get my deposit back. so annoying.

ok but funny thing is: the luggages have reached singapore (OMG!!) but the keys have not reached aalborg. (OMG.)

so end of story. amazingly bad story.

better than the first time when i went to paris. when the plane which was supposed to land in paris beauvais airport at 830am ended up landing in brussels south charleroi airpor at 930am cos the paris airport was too foggy. and then we had to take a 3 hour shuttle bus to paris beauvais airport and then another 1 and a half hour shuttle from the airport to the city center, so we ended up in paris at 330pm. (THAT is a very very bad story)

it is 0 degrees omg.

what spring?

the monologue of a stranger.
24/04/2009-3:06 a.m.
numbness.

after 24 hours of incessant typing,
after a yr and a half - i feel that sore
i hear that word far from far and few.
like a little girl, i cry.
i weep. i weep for you.

a pathetic stoic piece of worthless poetry
i once deemed with glory bold
now all's left is heartfelt wrench
i mourn for the time
pity for the old

you hold that phrase
come ringing with my smile, my cry
my precious work of art
i carry your heart, i carry it in my heart.

numbness - i can read you
i can hear you;
just dont repeatedly bellow or say
and i will slowly walk away.

hello!

i started on my 25 page essay at 11am yesterday and im almost done cos i haven stopped doing it since :) omg a levels all over again. it is good being a work machine sometimes. finally done = now can chill and play.

yay so all 3 essays are completed though the 2 left are due end of may and early june. (: yay so i can go watch friends and check if greys and gossip girl's out!

it was freezing yesterday omg. i wore 3 layers (i've packed up all my big jackets ready to mailed home) but somehow it felt like 3 or 4 degrees yesterday. ok according to the weather forecast, i think it was ): oh but the sun's crazy nowadays it sets at like 10pm (10PM??!!) and apparently it could set close to 12am in july and rise at about 3am. what?! daylight saving is stupid la really it should be implemented (see, effect of too many essays written) during the heart of winter when the sun sets at like 3.30pm or sth.

its coming to may, which means this whirlwind of a eurotrip would be coming to an end soon. bittersweet but its nice to know im going home (:

<3 Thank God you're ok.

so we had a picnic/bbq at noon today!

BUT apparently scandinavian spring is uniquely different from the rest of europe's. it was 4 degrees and it started to snow a little. IN SPRING.

we were freezing our butts outside but it was really fun! =)

hello cooked curry chicken today and it was quite nice :D kudos to wei lin and xinyun for chopping up the chicken! cooked bak kut teh the other day and it was quite okay too (:

so, just got back from a trip to amsterdam, brussels, brugge, luxembourg and paris via frankfurt, nancy, cologne and bremen! amsterdam was a complete sin city, which was quite an eye opener for me. weed's not legal there but its tolerated. meaning weed is openly sold everywhere and ppl can buy and smoke weed in joints called 'coffeshops'. and hash too. but magic mushrooms have been completely banned cos it can cause hallucinations and i guess mishaps have happened cos of that drug. and the red light district's another interesting place. there are women behind glass doors very scantily clad, with the micro mini bikini outfit or spandex, and platform stilettos. the little cubicles behind the glass doors are filled with curtains and tassels and lit red. the women were like racially divided, with the whites dominating the main street. the girls were mostly really really pretty, tall and slim. they were even out parading behind the windows in the day. and as and when they have customers, the woman opens the door for the man to go in and she draws the red curtain across the glass window. we even got some guy coming out the glass window. he tried to look inconspicuous and attempted to slip into the crowd but he kind of failed la haha. anyway there's a sex museum and a hash marijuana museum too. although amsterdam's so distinctly known for being the city of sex and drugs, the place is surprisingly extremely safe cos everyone goes about doing their own thing and they dont meddle with what other people are doing. apart from all these deadly sins the city is known for, the city is also known to be a bicycle haven! i think there might just be more bikes than people. the parking lots for bikes are completely filled up and they are huge to begin with. the food's pretty good too, croquettes from vending machines at febo and fries with sweet mayo! =) oh i forgot to mention some shops sell weed lollipops and many sell space cakes too. there are these amazing museums as well - van gogh, anne frank house etc. :)

on to brussels. took a train to brussels and checked into a nice room (: (the hotel we booked at every city got better and better haha) brussels was beautiful, with gorgeous buildings and yummy food - seafood (mussels and escargot!!), WAFFLES, chocolates etc. YUM. i had countless waffles but i loved the one with fresh strawberries dripping with condensed milk best! went to see the grand place, manneken pis (the peeing boy: legend has it that he peed on a fire spark and saved the town from burning down. he was in my pri sch chinese textbook haha) etc. pretty simple and picturesque place.

took a day trip to brugge the next morning and it was one of the highlights of the trip for me! a quiet and small town but really classic and gorgeous. went to see some churches, one of which held the relic containing the blood of Jesus. we managed to go to the church in time to see the relic (the doors were only open for an hr or so). went up the throne, touched the relic and said a prayer. it was an amazing experience for me. was supposed to go to antwerp to meet rachel but i decided that i had to go to brugge to see this relic so i went to brugge instead! =) rented bicycles and we cycled out to the countryside together by the river/lake. saw cows, horses, sheep, chickens and giant windmills along the way. took the train back to brussels in the evening and played german bridge! =)

went onto luxembourg the next day. it wasnt that fantastic for me but it was still pretty nonetheless. the bridges, caves, valleys, old forts, churches etc were quite breathtaking. but we kind of ran out of things to do after awhile cos luxembourg city's city centre was really small! got stuck at luxembourg the next day though we had originally planned to to go paris the next morning. so we chilled at macs, ate alot and then hopped onto the train only at noon.

stopped over at nancy, a small town in france, before reaching paris. chilled at a nice cafe, had pizza and played pool! =) walked to the church too, though it was close. the people at nancy were really friendly and helpful (:

reached the beautiful city of paris! =) had crepes (had jam all over my shorts and bag hahah), escargots, picnic by the fountain at jardin de tuilleries, paella rice etc. bought a bright red lipstick and played with it with the rest of the girls haha! we stayed at a nice hotel at a location no where comparative to the hotel's classy aura. it was some poor district but the people didnt try to bother us la. though there were various attempts at pickpocketing for some of us through the days as we went around paris. but all's well (: managed to catch the night view of the eiffel tower and saw its hourly shimmer of bright silver star-lights. it was pretty dazzling and very touristy in fact haha. went to the pantheon and saw the biggest pendulum in the world (200 over meters high!) and managed to go for a good friday mass at a catholic church. it was all in french so i left halfway but it was a nice and sweet presence in the church nonetheless (:

took the train to cologne, and then to bremen to catch the flight back to stockholm. managed to see the church outside the train station at cologne and the bell was ringing non stop cos it was easter sunday. walk around the city centre at bremen and it was a very nice end to the trip (:

29/03/2009-12:18 a.m.
Daylight saving time begins on Sunday, 29th March 2009, at 2.00 AM. The clock is set to go forward 1 hour at this time.

so, 6 hrs difference from singapore then (:

panic at the disco!
28/03/2009-9:12 p.m.
i have countless questions about my assignment because there's absolutely no concrete instructions as to the format/word count etc. so i've been emailing the study secretary at my uni, about 10 emails in 3 days or so? and one bright new sunny morning, i open my email to find yet another email reply from her but the subject said 'away from my email'.

oh shit, i have finally pissed the hell out of her.

post trauma, i open the email only to read that it was an auto message cos she was going to be out of office for 2 days.

anyway, its so terribly boring in aalborg that this is what i did today:

-played in the hail storm
-visited 3 supermarkets
-went for an hr jog
-watched matilda and slumdog millionnaire
-chopped up an entire chicken
-peeled 2 potatoes with a potato peeler (i've never used that thing but miraculously i didnt lose any fingers)

i finished my 7 day essay at 4.50 this morning so enough activity for the day. i can finally sleep in peace :) byebye!

oh lover, hold on
til i come back again
for these arms are growing tired,
and my tales are wearing thin

if you're patient I will surprise,
when you wake up ill have come

all the anger will settle down
and we'll go do all the things we should have done

yes i remember what we said
as we lay down to bed
ill be here if you will only come back home

oh lover, im lost
because the road ive chosen beckons me away

oh lover, don't you roam
now im fighting words i never thought i'd say

but i remember what we said
as we lay down to bed
ill forgive you oh
if you just come back home

oh lover, im old
you'll be out there and be thinking just of me

and i will find you down the road
and will return back home to where we're meant to be

cause i remember what we said
as we lay down to bed
we'll be back soon as we make history.

27/03/2009-5:13 p.m.
hello world. my blog has become deathly boring and i am about to disintegrate in this aura of crappy nothingness.

so, no im not depressed. but i just wish i had something more exciting to do other than thumb twiddling, leg shaking and dreamless sleeping.

i've been given an essay to finish by next friday. but im almost done with it. so that's another 6 days of nothingness. though i am still pretty entertained by the eccentric thoughts in my brain.

1) it really amazes me how i get less resistant to the cold as it gets warmer here.
2) or how i can cut my finger from peeling an orange.
3) or how i actually say i dont like rachel yamagata (i just offended a mass of people but i really dont like her) but i secretly want to download duet.
4) how im marveled by how i can actually speak fluent cantonese when i dont go through the words i wanna say in my brain before they actually come through my mouth
5) or why cant they show an episode of greys everyday and not leave me here stranded with derek's proposal and izzie's cancer. i need more.

sth to look forward to: amsterdam, belgium, luxembourg, france.
and time to see rachel too of course.
antwerp it is! (:
(not what u are thinking, siew chi my love)

possibly sth to look forward to: i wanna cut my hair; but i need more hair at the same time.

ok im gonna go now. u see when im stressed, im very weird. sorry.

<3
17/03/2009-10:13 p.m.
went to copanhagen and went to this place called christinia inside of copanhagen. (im lazy to type so i copied and pasted part of my email to my sister here haha) its is like a whole new different country-like place on its own. there's a distinct entrance/exit to the place and its so different on the inside and outside of christiania. its like this 'lawless' place with hell alot of graffiti in there and it's not part of the eu (unlike the rest of copanhagen). it has its own flag, own rules and all. the yuppies and druggies roam the place (its very very small, situated just off centre of copanhagen city some more) and there are people everywhere taking drugs. there are huge ash burning furnace bins everywhere like a bon fire feel to it. and scarecrows made of metal barbed wire. and the peace and hobo signs and flags everywhere. and there are souvenir shops in there (the push cart kind) selling those glass pipes to take drugs with. and there are signs everywhere forbidding u to take any photos cos the ppl in there hate it. and there are these little dodgy huts where ppl also take drugs at and get wasted on tonnes of alcohol. the police cant catch anyone in there cos they are not under the eu system. its fascinating but its very very scary to go there at night. the contrast between that place and the rest of copanhagen, even denmark or scandinavia is just so great. its highly advisable not to go at night (there are tours that bring ppl there in the day) but people still do cos that's when the place starts to come alive. there are these ppl in hip hop funk and dreadlocks walking around, ppl kicking and smashing beer bottles, ppl huddled around the furnace thing taking drugs, some guy sitting at the entrance on the inside of christiania using the aluminium foil and inserting himself with drugs, random ppl blowing harmonicas and weird instruments, dodgy bars and pubs with paint blasted buddha heads and smashed up windows, graffiti scolding the eu. OMG ITS INSANE. the entrance/exit of christiania says 'christiania' from the outside before entering. and when you leave, the inside of the sign says 'welcome back to the eu'. haha its fascinating.

hello! =) im back from paris. its such a beautiful city all the buildings are so gorgeous and the whole landscape's just so picturesque! apparently the city still looks like how it used to look like 200 yrs ago. almost all the french ppl we met were really nice which made the whole experience incredible! went to 35 sites in 3 days and it was just amazing despite the rush. got to catch the procession that takes place only on the first friday of every month at notre dame at 3pm. which was very significant for me so i made sure we got to see it despite the crowd there. it was the veneration of the crown of thorns that Jesus wore when he was crucified. went to all the major sites like louvre (which is the biggest museum in the world with over 100,000 articles with 35,000 articles on display at any one time cos there are just too many. and it was calculated that if a person spent 30 secs at each article and without any meal or toilet breaks at all, he would have to be in the louvre for 64 running days to cover everything! we were very fortunate cos we didnt meet with any queues at the major sites which were infamously known for their 2 to 3 hr queues every single day. when we got into the louvre, we went straight to see the mona lisa first of course. it was quite disappointing cos its so small relative to all the other art pieces in the louvre. and just in front of it lies the biggest art piece in the world so the A3 sized painting of mona lisa wasnt all that spectacular. it was hilarious watching everyone frantically taking pictures of the art piece. its significance probably cos of the mystery behind it. whether she is happy, whether she is actually da vinci painting himself in 'drag' fashion. its been in the louvre for 200 yrs by the way. anyway the louvre was amazing nonetheless its awe is indeed fathomless.) went to the top floor of the eiffel tower and saw the day view of paris (its so organized and beautiful especially from up there) and saw the night view of paris from the highest point of paris, from the sacre coeur church on top of the hill at montmartre (where moulin rouge is situated. the cabaret show is 193 euros. quoted 'just for boobs and feathers'. n apparently 80 percent of the showgirls in there are from australia). went to see van gogh's house, picasso's studio, the bar he worked at, the artistic square (butte montmartre), pigalle (the red light district), the latin quarter, st. michel's fountain, to the catacombs (6 million people's skeletons kept there in the old mining quarry), the pantheon, les invalides (napoleon's tomb), the opera theatre (where the longest running musical's phantom of the opera and like the show, has a real lake below the theatre. and there's a 3 yr long waiting list to see the lake!), went to jardin de tullieries and managed to see celebrities arriving for vivienne westwood's collection and there was a protest going on by the people from PETA holding up posters that said 'FUR IS DEAD' and they threw red paint on the fur on the ground to represent blood shed. they swarmed celebs who arrived but the celebs were too occupied with the huge crowd of paparazzi there as well. it was just so fantastic watching it - a true flair of french drama. we became such professionals at taking the very complicated paris metro and we became so good at changing trains and going to places. had french crepes, waffles, madeleines, and a great french breakfast. went to alot of other places too and the whole experience was just so amazing!!

the second night at the hostel was amazing cos we got to meet 3 hilarious japanese students and a brazilian boy who kept us laughing til 1am. the japanese were so tickled that we knew about their gameshows.

2 ppl attempted to pick pocket us but sorry tough luck we were very very careful and meticulous! i felt some guy's hand in my jacket pocket and on my elbow and when we shouted at him, he brisk walked away as fast as he could. what audacity! but anyway, they dressed very much like us so they were somewhat inconspicuous but we read too much about pick pockets in europe that we were far too well equipped for them to steal anything from us. scandinavia is so different cos its very much safer than the other parts of europe.

love paris! =)

hello!!

went to berlin, germany last weekend and it was awesome. learning about it in history and then going there to experience and see the sites was just so fantastic. first and foremost, the food there's so cheap (compared to scandinavia) and there's bratwursts/wieners (all sorts) everywhere. YUM. 9 out of 10 buildings in berlin's graffiti-ed and there are tours that bring u around to see the subculture and to look at the the history of some of the art on the buildings. the war and wall sites were so amazing and the stories told by the tour guides were so interesting. we managed to find very cheap tours (by foot) and we visited many memorials, jewish holocaust museums, soviet secret police headquarters in east berlin, the remains of the berlin wall, the death strip, churches, nazi concentration camp 45 min by train outside of berlin, checkpoint charlie (us checkpoint). When wai han, xy and i went to one of the war memorial sites, there were men dressed in military attire and holding flowers. I think it was an important date of some sort and so there was a memorial going on. We built snowmen (gave one pair of my h & m gloves to him), created snow angels and threw snow balls. the snow was so thick it went up to knee height and when you walk in the snow, you could just sink in cos you cant judge how deep the snow is. Germany was very very cold and it was snowing and raining everyday and the few pairs of socks in the shoes were all soaked up cos it was so wet everywhere. the first hostel we stayed at on the first night had a terrible heating system so wei lin and laura slept in their thermals haha. it was so cold cos of the wind so we had to practically wear all the clothes we brought to germany every single day. the concentration camp was especially cold because it was outside of the city. (-4 with wind is not funny). went to potsdamer platz and took the fastest elevator in europe (24 storeys in 5 secs), had dunkin donuts and hot tea! (haagen dazs, however its spelt, is german as well! but it was too cold to have ice cream. andersons is from denmark by the way haha) we coincidentally bumped into singaporeans studying in gotheburg so we went to the concentration camp tour with them. met deanna and tony and we went to potsdam on the last day, and saw many old palaces built by the ancient kaisers of germany. the hostel that we stayed at for the other nights was at a station called zoologischer garten cos it was situated near the zoo. there was kfc there and a museum called erotika museum which showed blue movies and displayed very explicit historical artifacts of sex related stuff. we didnt go to the museum but there were alot of very ordinary looking father-looking men in there (very disturbing). anyway, on to the interesting bits of the trip.

wai han, xy and i arrived in germany in the day and weilin and laura arrived at night. the three of us bought the standard reduced ticket from the ticket booth for the inter rail bahnof trains within berlin. when we were in there gg back to our hostel on the first night, this conductor came on and checked on the tickets. he said reduced fare was for kids (6-13) and he told us to get off on the next station. we bought the reduced fare cos in scandinavia, reduced fare included students as well. so we got off at the next station and he took out his little machine thing and asked for our passports. he said we were going to be fined 40 euros. so all 3 of us got very fierce and we tried to explain to him that we just arrived that morning and we didnt know that the reduced fare meant for kids cos that wasnt how it was like in scandinavia. then he pointed at the ticket machine and said 'This is Berlin'. Then he called another conductor to help him to key in our particulars into the system. The other guy couldn really speak english and he stupidly kept pointing at xy's passport and asked if malaysia was a town. OMG. anyway, then wai han said we just arrived today and thankfully, our boarding passes were still in the passport and then she said, we just arrived we are not out to cheat your system. but he insisted that he still wanted to fine us 40 euros and asked if we wanted to pay now or later on. so i said is there anyone else we can talk to. i want to see your superior. then they kept quiet and the guy who could speak english asked the other conductor to return the passports. then he pointed at the machine and said ok then you buy the correct ticket now, which is the standard normal fare. (2 euros by the way vs. 40 euros hello??) and we were like yaaaa that's what we've been trying to tell you. i mean we didnt say it in their faces of course but we just said yaa in the duh tone. they walked away towards another train and they started grumbling to each other in german, probably scolding us or sth. so being very indignant about it and being chinese lians, we scolded them back quietly in chinese and hokkien hahaha.

ok next suay thing happened. on the day we were supposed to fly, wai han xy and i were walking towards the airport and from afar, i saw a huge group of ppl wearing the bright yellow vests (the corrective work order vest), carrying flags and blowing their whistles and walking towards the airport. and i knew at that instance, oh shit they're on strike. and true enough, when we got to the terminal to check in, all planes were delayed for 2 hours. what a waste of time. anyway, the media was there and there were all sorts of announcements about the local strike going on.

sooooo, finally on the train back to aalborg, the train was running and all of a sudden, it went to an abrupt halt and it stopped in the middle of nowhere. then they announced something in danish/swedish whatever and then that's it. i was just thinking oh the trains in front are probably too slow and so we need to stop for a short while, or to let some other train from the other railway track pass first. it happened very often anyway. i mean, everyone on the train looked perfectly calm so i just went back to reading my magazine and waited. after half an hour, the guy sitting behind tapped my shoulder and asked if i knew why the train stopped and i said huh no i dont. then he asked if i could speak english and he started to explain what was going on. he said they announced that we were going to stop for one and a half hours at the very least because the train hit a person. (WHAT????? AND EVERYONE ON THE TRAIN WAS SO CALM SO OBVIOUSLY I NEVER EXPECTED THAT) so i asked how the person was and he said that he/she was unfortunately dead. and the police and ambulance were on their way so they're gonna switch off all the lights in the train in awhile to conserve the fuel. and true enough, they switched off all the lights soon after and everyone turned on their reading lights. i was on the 3rd carriage so i couldn really see anything on the outside but when i peeped out of the window i could see that the track was in the middle of some snow field so it could possibly have been a vagrant or some drunkard person who got hit maybe? i dont know. anyway, i could hear the excavation-like sounds on the outside of the train and the train ppl were running up and down the carriages. just before the lights were turned on again, i felt the whole carriage shake abit. it was so scary. :s what an experience.

ok done with germany and whatever happened hahah!

on to kiruna!!

kiruna's a part of sweden very far up north near the arctic and it's 17 hours from stockholm by train. it was so exciting cos we met singaporeans from lund and uppsala in the train as well and it was like a mini singaporean gathering in the train haha. we met even more singaporeans at the hostel and when we were leaving kiruna too! we booked the sleeping cabin on the train and so 5 of us were in one cabin with another old man called roland. we found out that he was staying in the same hostel apartment place as us and that we going back on the same train! he's so cute he's 70 and the trip to kiruna was a birthday present from his family. he has 10 grandchildren and 4 kids WOW and he's so young. he was such a kind old man and we ended up going to places with him as well. the sleeping cabin was so much fun but very very squeazy and we had 3 bunk beds stacked up one above another and another 3 on the other side so that made 6 foldable bunks in the cabin. when we were reaching kiruna, weilin showed us that there was a thick layer of frozen vapour that had solidified through the night and it had even turned into snow ON THE INSIDE OF THE WINDOW. OMG. kiruna was very very very cold and the wind was so strong the snow was practically flying horizontally hahah! i wore 7 layers on top, 4 layers on the bottom, 3 socks and boots, 2 hoodies, 1 pair of leather and 1 pair of ski gloves. SO COLD. there was so so so much snow EVERYWHERE and the snow piles were all so high and deep. on the first day, we took the bus to the ice hotel and toured the place. took a tour to camp alta at night and rode on the snow mobile in the snow fields up to the mountain but there were no northern lights that night cos it was too cloudy. it was probably -20 plus at night so it was very very cold. but we wore an additional layer of overalls and helmet, ski boots and ski goggles so it was quite ok. had a campfire and tea and biscuits too! =) the wind on the top of the mountain was so so strong you could practically hear the wind going wooooooooo very loudly and the snow flying horizontally. it was such an amazing experience. the snow fields were so wide and huge and i've never seen so many christmas trees in my life. the snow was so so so thick but it was so deceiving cos it didnt look that thick. it was already hard enough to walk on the path hardened by the snow mobile tracks but once we walked out of the wheel tracks, it was almost impossible to walk cos we would sink into the snow which could go up to the upper thigh. kiruna's snow condition is CRAZY. its almost impossible to even imagine. its almost like the arctic already cos it lies on the arctic line, where you can see northern lights in the sky at night. on the second day, we met up with the uppsala ppl and visited the church and went on the iron ore mining tour to the biggest underground mine in the world. the guide told us the impact of the mining's making the land on the surface level cave in over time so they're making plans to move kiruna to the other side of the mountain haha!! and she showed us pictures of how some moving companies can move the buildings in one piece and kiruna would probably move by 2050. kiruna was founded because of the mining mountain and its being sustained cos of kiruna now. (: went to some restaurant to eat dinner (weilin laura and wai han shared a reindeer meat pizza) and roland came along with us too. (he went to ice hotel and the mining tour with us too. he cant really speak english so its very funny watching the rest try to talk to him) and we walked to camp ripan after dinner. it was about -25 or -30 so the chance of seeing the northen lights was pretty high and the sky was very clear. (sunset was gorgeous by the way the blue in the sky is so incomprehensible, a sky u cant see anywhere else except near the poles. i felt like i could touch the stars at night. oh i saw a shooting star by the way!) as usual, we kept sinking into the snow as we walked and our toes and fingers were all frozen under the layers. the aurora forecast said the chances of seeing the northern lights was low that night but we still managed to catch abit of it!!! the uppsala ppl went to abisko, one and a half hours from kiruna and they managed to see the northern lights even more clearly! we lingered around to watch the northern lights (came and went, came and went again) before sharing a cab back to our hostel (30 min by foot away) cos it was far too cold to walk. went on another tour the next morning and went dog-sledding. the dogs were so cute but they kept pooing and peeing everywhere so it was quite smelly. it was once again very cold and my face was so numb i thought it was going to drop off. set on reindeer skins, had campfire in a tent and had lunch there before going back again. the last day was extremely windy and when the cars passed by you could practically see the snow particles being swept from the sides and moving like vapour. it was so cold. we did free fall on some snow pile too cos the lowest of the snow piles went up to knee level. kiruna was so so amazing.

anyway some facts about kiruna: during summer, the sun is out 24 hours a day (akin to the arctic), and they call the sun at night the midnight sun/summer nights. summer only comes for a brief period and then it snows again. during december, the temperature could go down to -50 and during the first month of winter or so, the sun never comes out and its night all the time. then the sun comes out for less than 2 hours a day, and then as winter progresses, the days get longer but the cold persists. kiruna is so amazing i think my family would love the experience very much.

=) im so blessed.

heart day

hello from sweden! =) its colder here in stockholm than in aalborg but it feels alot colder in aalborg cos the wind there's very strong. it snowed today haha.. and i learnt a new word from weilin. sleet = Rain and snow mixed. and that's when its coldest. but okay two of my housemates are from poland and they told me it could go down to -28 there so ok haha i shouldn be complaining. its been very cold. i was at the bus stop a few days ago and i suddenly realised that my thumb was bleeding cos it got cut quite deep. and til now i still have no idea how, where and why i got it. i can barely feel anything cos my whole hand gets so numb, even under the gloves. but the wound hurts now ):

its weilin's birthday today so we went to a nice italian restaurant to chill. haven had such nice food since i got here. i am a sucker at cooking so i hardly eat good food back in aalborg. :s

went to vasa museum today and then to gamla stan (some old town) for lunch. the vasa museum was very nice!

ok gg to sleep soon. goodnight =)

hello! =)

its very very very cold today everyone was shivering and running for shelter. first day of sch! met alot of international students from everywhere. poland, italy (20 crazy italian guys and 3 italian girls; one's my housemate), hk, vietnam, korea, us, germany, mexico, serbia, south africa, china, norway, france, austria etc etc. oh and danish ppl too of course. it was really nice talking to them and getting to know them all. some of us went over to one of the danish buddy's place for meatballs, potatoes and beer. and the cheeky italian boy damyliano (so i think its spelt!) made the austrian girl celebrate her birthday haha.. and all of us ended up singing happy birthday to her in our native language. when the french guy sang the song in french some other guy popped his head out and said 'hey i was just thinking that song's familiar. oh im french too haha'. it was really nice but through the day i was trying to explain that singapore's not in china and we speak english in spore haha! but ok i guess its good cos i got alot of hey u speak english really well! im kinda glad that im alone here cos ive learnt to become more initiative and ask for things on my own.

class was nice. met a girl called kate whitehead from the us and she's really sweet. it was really easy to talk to her and its good that we're taking classes together (:

im so sleepy now. but im starting to enjoy it all even with sch starting hehe.

31/01/2009-8:51 p.m.
home stay my backside.

im staying at a house somewhat like a sorority. and my room is half the size of the room of the polish girl next next door. ):

i stay in a prison cell. but ok its quite cosy. xinyun bought me a che guevara poster from uk and i wanted to erm paste some poster on the wall to make the room feel more comfy or sth. but i cant possibly put him on my wall i will probably die of shock when i wake up every morning. she bought me another poster too, of the movie waterhorse (cos apparently i look like the young waterhorse wth) but that would be an even worse alternative to put on my wall. i should have brought some photos here.

im starting to miss home a little.

sch soon ):

day 1!
29/01/2009-5:47 p.m.
hello from denmark! =)

so im finally here haha. ok so i got onto the plane, only to find a 40 sth year old woman sitting in my seat. im not particular but its a long haul flight so i purposely chose the window seat. so i just said hi so sorry ure in my seat your seat's an aisle seat. she already took her boots and socks off and was nicely resting her bare feet on the footrest. she stared at me with dazed eyes and grabbed onto her jacket and shook her head like i was gonna rob her or sth. so i smiled and just said erm ok nvm ill ask the air stewardess ok? but she still had the same response. she was wearing some stickers that said i have special needs or sth. so basically she was from vietnam and didnt understand me. anyway she hastily threw her boots to the aisle chair and changed seats. i felt quite bad but i needed a head rest so :s sorry. the seat between hers and mine was vacant so she decided to lift the arm rest and slept on both seats. but her feet were facing me and they kept inching closer and closer to me so i kept shifting my legs towards the window til she took up half of my seat. omg i kept telling myself to just bear with it and not create trouble. but she suddenly rested her feet on my lap. OMG so i called the air stewardess for help again. HAHA argh. anyway, reached copanhagen at 7 plus and i couldn find the shuttle bus between terminal 3 and 1 so i ended up walking almost 2km to terminal 1 while lugging the very very heavy hand carry on my shoulder (and my hip is bruised now cos of the abrasion). xinyun kindly came over from stockholm to help me with my luggage thank you!!

aalborg is so quiet and quite dead. everyone's quite friendly though (: everything is SO EXPENSIVE. had a 20 bucks sandwich for lunch and im very hungry now. (the very basic sort. some more exotic sandwiches can come up to 99 or 120 kroners = 30 or 40 plus) and a 10 min cab fare could cost you 60 to 70 sing? CRAZY. took the bus to town today and walked around. there's like not much to do and the roads are not busy at all. im not suffering from any jet lag though haha (but im kinda sleepy now oh no).

its terribly cold here cos the winds are quite strong. it was negative 4 or 6 today if im not wrong.. and the nights are gonna get even colder.

ok gonna find some non danish channel to watch byebye =)

dad just left for his flight to paris and im at the sq lounge feeling quite sleepy haha.. went to dutyfree to get some stuff and i chanced upon davidoff cool water. somehow this is the only cologne that grabs my attention and has been for years haha. so being very itchy handed i took the paper sheet thing and sprayed some on it to smell. but some of the fragrance got onto my jacket so now i smell like a boy ): ck one reminds me of dad and coolwater is just very nice.

my grandma teared this afternoon and she raised her arms to ask for a hug before i could even reach over. she is such a classic sweet. (:

i really can be an idiot.

this happened a few months ago:
while drawing money from the atm, my finger slipped and instead of drawing out 50, i ended up pressing something else and the next thing i knew, 20 50 dollar notes came out. and i stood at the machine and laughed and laughed and laughed. after which i tried to very inconspicuously slip off to the next queue to put it all back. then i realised that i actually needed to take out 50 bucks to begin with, so i joined the atm queue again.

and it happened again today. ):

helloo :) its been a great month out and about eating playing catching up. but now its so hard to leave, to become some sad lonely chinese girl squatting by the road side playing with snow. haha im starting to feel quite sad about leaving, mainly cos that equates to starting school again. im feeling so sluggish but okay, time for change and time to come out of my comfort zone.

i think im going to miss youS ):
